During a Cumming home inspection I discovered that there is inadequate deck flashing installed on this stucco home located in Cumming, GA home. The flashing will help to prevent water from getting to the ledger board and causing it to rot. The Cumming home inspector detailed that the flashing should be installed under the stucco, come out over the top of the ledger board so that any moisture can drain away. If water is allowed to collect in this area, the ledger board will rot, thus weakening the structure. The Cumming home inspector also stated that the water could affect the stucco wall covering and cause mold issues. This now begs the questions; should the house have a mold test performed? Should the stucco be inspected for moisture intrusion? These tests can be provided to you by Duffy home Inspection Services Inc. when you have your home inspection in Cumming or any other city.
